WORTEV Strengthens Economic Ties Between Dubai and Mexico

A strategic meeting to expand cooperation, investment, and business growth between Latin America and the Middle East

In a continued effort to strengthen the economic relationship between Dubai and Mexico, WORTEV, together with the Center for Competitiveness of Mexico (CCMX), hosted Mohammad Khalid Alkassim, Director of Investment Attraction at Dubai Chambers, at WORTEV Campus for the presentation of Dubai Global’s strategy for Latin America.

The exclusive event, held on August 27, brought together business leaders, investors, economic organizations, and media representatives to explore new opportunities for collaboration, investment, and international expansion.

“The purpose of our visit is to strengthen ties with the Mexican business ecosystem and share the tools Dubai offers for business internationalization, project development, and capital attraction,” said Mohammad Khalid Alkassim. “Mexico is a strategic partner in the region, and our goal is to build a sustainable and long-term economic bridge.”

Mexico: A Strategic Gateway for Dubai’s Global Vision

As part of its expansion strategy, Dubai Chambers has identified Mexico as a priority market in Latin America.
Since 2024, the organization has promoted the creation of the Mexican Business Council in Dubai, and bilateral investments between the two markets have surpassed 320 million USD between 2018 and 2024.High-growth sectors include agribusiness, technology, financial services, food, and transport, aligned with the economic diversification promoted by the Emirate.

Juan Carlos Ostolaza, General Director of CCMX, emphasized that Plan México seeks to attract new investments, strengthen the USMCA, and consolidate export-oriented industries toward Dubai, including automotive, textile, and agrifood sectors.
“We expect between 200 and 300 million USD in investments from Dubai to Mexico over the next five years,” he stated.

Ernesto Capistrán, Dubai Chambers’ representative in Mexico, added:

“Dubai imports 98% of what it consumes, which opens a great opportunity for Mexico. The Emirate has positioned itself as one of the safest and most stable places in the world to invest.”María De Haas Matamoros, Director of International Relations at the Ministry of Economy, representing Secretary Marcelo Ebrard, also stressed that Plan México seeks to position the country as a key player in global supply chain restructuring, and that Dubai is a natural partner to achieve that goal.
